A solstice supper that begins in darkness and ends considerably later

Once a year the cellar is opened, the candles are lit, and the doors stay shut until the last guest gives up.
The menu changes annually and is never published in advance. Reservations open in early autumn and the room seats sixteen.

Questions we hear at the door
Why does it start so late?
Doors at nine. The menu is built around the longest night of the year and the room is lit by nothing but candle, so arriving in the dark is rather the point.
How cold is the cellar?
Cool, never uncomfortable — but it is a stone room in December. Bring a layer you don't mind being photographed in.
Is the whole-cellar booking catered differently?
Same menu, entirely your guest list, and the kitchen will work with you on additions. Get in touch before reserving and we'll plan it properly.
